Nubia Sosa
Educational Director & Lead NEST Teacher
Since joining SBMA in 2008, Ms. Nubia has brought her meaningful experience and joyful spirit to many roles—including Lead Teacher in the N.E.S.T., Director of Educational Programs, and Staff Liaison to the Board of Directors. Originally from Paraguay, she speaks Spanish, English, and Guarani, and holds degrees in Mathematics and Education Science, as well as an AMS Infant & Toddler Montessori credential. Ms. Nubia began teaching at just 14 and has worked in a variety of educational settings. At SBMA, she loves witnessing the development of the youngest learners, with her favorite Montessori activity being shoe polishing, as it combines independence, focus, and visible accomplishment.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Nubia enjoys spending time with her family, gardening with her mother, and appreciating the simple joys of daily life. She values the personal growth and the relationships she forms with students, families, and coworkers. "With the younger children, especially the toddlers, every day is an adventure and I get to be a part of that," she shares. "Being a part of their personal and educational growth are reasons why I choose this career."
